The World of Warcraft movie is officially a go
A movie based on World of Warcraft has been in the works for some time, and now it's official: the big-screen adaptation of WoW rolls next year with Duncan Jones (Source Code) Director.
This announcement was made at Comic Con, and as we already reported on TG, this was a long time coming. It was not a good video game movie to date, and we hope that WoW is the one who breaks his losing streak. As Variety reports, a WoW movie also has the passion project of Legendary Pictures, the studio that gave us the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, wow gold next summer and redo of Godzilla.
At one point, Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead) wanted to direct, and the confused mind what madness he could come up with. Nevertheless, Duncan Jones is a good aspiring director in his own right, and this could be the project that finally puts him over the top and makes him to be a major Hollywood playa.
Several years ago, the big screen version of Halo went bust at Universal, because it would have been easy to have to do way too expensive. (Neill Blomkamp, whose next film Elysium is on August 9, wanted the Halo flick guide, wow powerlevel but made District 9 instead.) We think WoW has the potential to be a big smash video game movie, so here's hoping he delivers when it is ready for publication in 2015.
